Kia motors is the second largest automobile manufacture in South Korea and partly owned by Hyundai, the largest in South Korea.
Known as a maker of not very exciting cars that sell for competitive prices. This strategy has seen the company expand rapidly with 385,000 units sold in Europe in 2015, an 8.8% year on year growth.
A late entrant to the EV party with the Kia Soul EV launching in South Korea in May 2014 with UK launch of Kia Soul EV and European sales commencing in July 2014 and US sales in October 2014 initially in California, Oregon, and several Eastern states. Global sales totalled 5,399 units through August 2015, of which, 1,177 were sold in South Korea.
